The Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, DC, is a research library with the largest Shakespeare collection in the world. I was the project editor for the Folger’s 70th anniversary book, Infinite Variety: Exploring the Folger Shakespeare Library. The book included the story of the library’s creation and its diverse activities, a photo essay of its historic building and grounds, in-depth looks at items in the collection and the programs to which they are linked, and a timeline of key events. To see how the designer’s choice of a horizontal shape worked with rare books, explore the cover and several openings from Infinite Variety at the Studio A website.
